"Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." (John 4:13-14).
Our Lord is the living water and those who come to drink will have this water living in them. If only we would drink, this water will come in and become a well in us. The well is the living water making a home in us, but it is not enough that the living water resides in us. We must allow him bubble and spring into eternal life.
"But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” (John 4:14).
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10).
The purpose of the water being released into this world is to keep filling us with life until we have this life in abundance. There are those who receives Christ and just leave the well there, undisturbed. They become born again and continue to live like sinful people. They do not care about the water living in them, they do not trouble it enough to make it bubble and spring into abundance of life. Yes, they have the life but they are not filled with it, they have not gotten themselves abundantly full. You meet them and you do not see any sign of the living water in them, they have subjected the water to stillness. No! You must continue to press in until the life become evidence in you. You must continue to disturb this well, continue to draw from it until it bubbles and gush out to fill your whole being with the life. Let every of your action be a reaction to the life in you.
"For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death." (Rom 7:5).
Before we receive Christ we wear drawing from the death in us and producing dead works. But now we have the life living inside us and we must go to it, and draw from it in everything we do. Let everything we do be a product of the life in us, let us continue to draw from that well and produce living works. You cannot live the Christian life without the life from the well in us, you must learn to be utterly dependent on the well of life in order to live the Christian life. You must rest on the water, always disturbing it, always seeking to draw out life as you strive to live the Christian life. The more we continue to disturb that well, drawing and drawing life from it, the more likely we would experience the well gushing out and filling the whole of our being with life in abundance. When the well finally gushes out inside of us we would realize that everything we do is filled we life. We would effortlessly produce fruit of life; love, righteous, holiness, gentleness, peace, grace and so on. People would look at us and see life evidence in us, the well will continue to gush out in us filling all of our being with life. But this will not happen if after receiving Christ we abandon the well and continue to live in the flesh, yielding to death. As a Church we are the vessel for the river of life and the world must see life in each and every one of us.
