"The Son radiates Gods own glory and expresses the very nature of God" (Hebrews 1:3).
Prophecy is God unveiling Himself, it is the invisible God stepping out of invisibilit. When you study the Bible closely you will realize that prophecy goes beyond words, there are those that prophesy without speaking any word. Words is one of the ways of expressing or unveiling yourself i.e through your words people will come to know you, they will see you for who you truly are. Prophetic words is one way God reveals or unveils Himself but this is only an aspect of the prophetic. The prophetic in it riches (its many aspects) is the revelation of God. Whether it be by words or by any other demonstration, whether it is a prediction of future events, a declaration of God's mind or a narration of a past event, it is all about God stepping out of invisibility to unveil Himself. God unveiling His omniscient, His wisdom, His heart and His nature, it is indeed the revelation of God. The Bible says Christ is the visible image of the invisible God, Christ is God revealed. The very stature of Christ unveils God.
To see Christ and to come in contact with him is to have a revelation of God. The Son is the body by which the Father is unveiled and expressed. The invisible God cannot been seen except through the Son — the Father is seen in the Son. This is why Jesus said, "If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!... Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!" (John 14:7, 9). Seeing the Son is seeing the Father and knowing the Son is knowing the Father.
"Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. " (Revelation 19:10).
This verse is saying when Christ is made factual, when he is proven or unveiled then prophecy becomes possible. Without Christ there is nothing like prophecy; without the Son, the Father remains invisible. If prophecy is the unveiling of the invisible God, then prophecy, in essence, is Christ. Prophecy is the Son unveiling the Father. The Son unveils the Father through words as the Son is the Word of God (John 1:1-2). The Son also unveils the Father through other kinds of expression and whatever the expression may be, the Bible tells us that Christ is the expression of God (Heb 1:3). Christ is God expressing Himself, so when one prophesy, that person is expressing Christ and as Christ is expressed and made evident God is unveiled. This is what prophecy is, it is a person, it is Christ. No, prophecy is not words, it is not signs, it is a living person.
You may be looking at a word of prophecy and yet not see the prophecy. This is because the prophecy is not the words but the person. Until you see the person you have not seen the prophecy, God has not been unveiled to you. You must see Christ in it, for only him could unveil God to you and a prophecy is not a prophecy if it is not unveiling God to you. It is all about the Son unveiling the Father, yes Christ is the true prophecy, any prophecy that is not Christ is not prophecy at all. So through out the Old Testament you see Christ; Christ everywhere, in the mouth of the prophet and in every other kind of prophetic demonstration. In essence, Christ is every prophecy prophesied by the Spirit of God. Christ is God unveiling Himself through prophecy.
