The Holy Spirit is the moving Spirit charge with the responsibility of bringing to manifestation the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. Christ is the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan, we are member (part or portion) of Christ, and therefore each one of us is an embodiment of a part or portion in the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. So everything that the Holy Spirit is doing in each and every one of us lives is to bring to manifestation that portion that we are in God’s eternal plan. Every workings, every manifestation, every emphasis of the Holy Spirit in our lives, whether on moral issues, on theological issues, on the supernatural, on experiences, and even down to the emotions of our hearts (the Holy Spirit can cause you to hate or like something, or even become passionate for it or grieve over it), are all meant to bring us to the fulfillment of our ‘calling’. I added quotation mark on the word calling because it means different things to different people, but here we are only using it to mean the portion of the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan that we are in Christ.
In Christ each one of us is an embodiment of a portion of the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan, and as we grow in Christ, we grow into that portion that we are, we become the manifestation of the fulfillment of that portion. This is why the Holy Spirit is very concern about our growth in Christ, for our maturity in Christ will lead to the manifestation of the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. Yes, our maturity in Christ leads to the fulfillment of the work of the Holy Spirit in this age. I am stating all of this so that you might understand that everything that the Holy Spirit is doing in you, it is both to make you mature in Christ and to bring you to the fulfillment of your purpose and your calling in life. So by examining the things that the Holy Spirit is doing in your life you can begin to have an understanding of God’s plan for your life. God will not explain everything to you, but by gathering what he has said, and what the Holy Spirit is doing in your life, you can paint a picture of what you are being led into.
Through his workings in our lives the Holy Spirit would lead us into God’s plan for our lives, and by yielding to the workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives we are following into God’s plan. The Father lead us in the place of our relationship with him, as we walk with him he communicate his heart to us and we learn of his will and follow. This is why relationship with the Father is very important, he reveals his heart to us and we learn of his secret. However, there is also the indwelling Christ, and the way he leads us is different. He is in you and he is the life, whenever you want to do anything out of him you will feel this grip of death, and then you will know to withdraw from taking such action, and rather you abide in Christ. This feeling of the grip of death depends on how much you know the Life (the indwelling Christ).
If you do not know the indwelling Christ, if you have not become awakened to him, you won’t be conscious of this feeling of the grip of death. How much death you feel depends on how much you are awaken to the Life and how far away is that action from the Life. You abide in the Life and allow the Life guide you in making decisions on actions that you want to take. Within the Life there are several choices of actions, and outside the Life there are several other actions that the devil and the flesh will present to you. You choose whether you want to walk in the Spirit or walk in the flesh, whether to abide in Christ or wonder into death and yield to the carnal man. In fact, this is a decision you make from the moment you got born again, because if you made Jesus your Lord it means that you have made a dedication to yield to him, to abide in Christ and always walk in the Spirit.
If you are truly born again then your decision will always be to choose from the options you have in the Life. How would you know the options that you have in the Life? You know by thinking about them while abiding in the Life; you get out of the flesh, many of us make decisions in the flesh. But you must get out of the flesh, do whatever works to get you out of the flesh and the hold or influence of the carnal man. Once you are sure you are out of the Life, wrap around the strong grip of the Life, then you begin to think about the options you have. You will feel the Life repel from some option, they are alien to him, and he cannot accept such options. Whatever the Life repels from you know it is death, the ones he does not repel from are the ones you must choose from.
Many of us Christians, our mind have been condition to think God’s choice is always one, but it is not always like that. Sometimes there are a list of choices that are within God’s will, and we are given the opportunity to choose. God makes it this way because he wants to train sons who would be able to make decisions for themselves, wise decisions. The pride of every parent is that they have succeeded in training their children to the point that they can make good decisions for themselves, and they don’t have to come running to their parent for every decision they want to make.
Parents want to be able to look at their children decisions in life and say, “Yes, that’s my child, I trained him. I am proud of him, I am proud of the decisions he has made in life”. So there are times that the Father will tell you exactly what he wants you to do, and there are times that he would not say anything because he is training you to be able to make some decision yourself by relying on his seed (Life) in you.
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1John 3:9).
That scripture is saying by the seed of God in you, you cannot sin. God wants us to take up actions base on his seed in us, because it is by that seed that you are son, and whenever you make a decision by the seed you are making a decision as a son. We need to live and walk as sons of God, we are often lost in the flesh, and we spend most of our Christian life in the struggle of the flesh. We are called to rest (abide) in Christ, rest in the life of God in us, the seed. So you abide in the Life and allow the Life lead you, I also mentioned the Spirit of the Life who's work is to empower us to live by the Life and help you as the Helper to follow the leadings of the Life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Life and the Helper, he helps us in following the leading of the life, whenever we are not sensing the leading of the life and we are just carried away in the flesh, the Spirit comes in and speaks to us, he guides us that we might remain abiding in the Life.
