Now, because God gives us the opportunity to choose from the options within the Life, wisdom is needed. Although all these options are within the Life they are not void of difficulties. Sometimes, rather than keep us from the fire God chooses to walk with us in the fire. However, we can go for the less difficult or stressful option, and wisdom is required to know which of the option is less filled with hardship and would save you a lot of stress. The Father wants us to need wisdom, to see our need for it and press in to develop it. His desire is to train wise sons that are capable of making wise decisions. All these are the reason why sometimes God would not answer our prayers and tell us what to do, he wants you to depend on his seed in you and he wants you to develop wisdom.
Most times, even as we make decisions within the Life our flesh still influences it. We usually end up choosing the one that is more pleasing to the flesh, the wisest option to choose are usually the ones that are harder on our flesh. The wisest option would save us a lot of stress in our lives and in our walk with God, but it will require a lot of dying to self. Remember Jesus when he was about to go to the cross, he kept asking the Father if there was any other way. But this way was not just the wisest way but the only way as far as the Father is concerned, if there was any other way Jesus would have gone for it. That is often how we behave, facing the cross and dying to self is very hard so we look for another way, but the way of wisdom is the cross.
“ However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God [c]ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1Cor 2:6-8).
“God's purpose is now to show the rulers and powers in the heavens the riches of his wisdom through the church” (Eph 3:10).
Through the Cross and its result (the Church), God hope to demonstrate the greatness and the riches of his wisdom; his plan is to demonstrate his highest wisdom, and that is what the cross is, it is the wisest of the wisest way. This is why the Father insisted that it must be by the cross, any other way would be less wise, and God doesn’t want anything less than an awe-stricken demonstration of the riches of his wisdom. The wisest way is always the way of the cross, that is how the wisdom of God is, and if we are to truly walk in God’s kind of wisdom then we must die to self.
We must always be ready to face the cross as many times as it is presented to us. Christ is the wisdom of God in us, and we have the Spirit of wisdom, by the Spirit of wisdom we would know which is the wisest choice, but knowing the wisest choice and choosing it are two different things. If you are one who is always ready to face the cross you will always make the wisest choice and you will develop God kind of wisdom. The more you choose wisdom, the more you will grow in wisdom.
