The Ecclesia; A Training Ground For Walking In The Supernatural

The Life (Christ) that we've received through salvation is a supernatural life. It is the life of the resurrected, glorified and enthroned Christ. Yes, we have the life of the one who is seated far above all things, the one who holds all power and authority in heaven and on earth. We are called to live that glorious and transcended life.

Even before Jesus died, resurrected and was glorified, he lived a supernatural life. That life is always supernatural, whether glorified or not. Yet we have the life in its glorified state. Jesus assured us saying, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." (John 14:12).

This means all those who are believers would live a life filled with supernatural works. He has given us the divine life, the very life of God the Creator, the Almighty supernatural Being. The ecclesia is meant to be a group learning to grow in this Life (Christ) and its expression. Their sole purpose is to come into maturity of this supernatural Life.

"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ." (Eph 11-13).

This is the goal of every ecclesia, that in togetherness the members shall come into the full measure of the complete stature of Christ. So they strive to come to that stature were each member is doing greater works just as Jesus assured us. They are going to achieve this through two ways.

1. Through mutual edification in the ecclesia meetings
2. Through ecclesia outreach.

I wrote a post about growing the life for the supernatural. If you haven't read it please do. In that post I explained how the Life is grown. First there is an indoor growing of the Life, but then it gets to a point where you have to go out there and let the Life flow out of you because the more it flows, the more you get richer with the Life. The ecclesia is designed to ensure that each individual is putting efforts to develop the Life indoors (in their personal walk with God). I would not go into details how this is done.

However, the outdoor aspect is done in a smaller scale in the ecclesia meeting where each member minister to one another, allowing the Life to flow from one member to another. But it doesn't stop there, the ecclesia is called to impact its locality with the life of Christ. To develop each member to be able to go out there into the world and express the Life, the ecclesia organizes group outreach.

In this outreach they can go out together to lay hands on the sick, pray for people in the streets (just like Jesus did), give aims to the needy, share prophetic words in the street, help people to encounter God (become a living encounter of God in the street), and also share the gospel. Many of us struggle to do these things on our own, but there is power in a group action. You feel more confident when you are doing something in a group than when you are doing it alone.

So developing the habit of going out there to pour out the Life may be difficult on your own. And that is why the ecclesia is there, to do it together with you in a group until you develop enough confidence to be able to go out into the world (on your own) to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils, present the goodnews, and spread life and light in this dying world ruled by darkness. The ecclesia trains each individual to measure up to the full stature of the Christ which now lives in them.
